Speech-Language Pathologist

Michelle completed her Master of Science in Speech from the University of Southwestern Louisiana – Los Angeles, CA in 1996 after completing her Baccalaureate in Speech from the University of North Dakota – Grand Forks, ND in 1994 and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg – Winnipeg, MB in 1993.

Michelle has vast experience conducting  assessment, diagnosis, treatment and consultative services to preschoolers of varying abilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her treatment focused on improving communication, language and speech skills to maximize the child’s cognitive, social and emotional growth using client-centered goals.

Michelle has completed her training in DIR- Floortime level 101 and 201, which can be implemented with children who need to strengthen their Functional Emotional Developmental Capacities in areas such as in Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has worked closely with the caregivers to ensure follow through and growth in communication skills and as part of  multi-disciplinary teams consisting of Case managers, Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist and Child Development Worker.
