Jesjiven Pannu

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Jesjiven graduated with her Masters in Speech and Language Therapy from the University City of London after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2010.

Prior to moving to Canada, Jesjiven has experience working in various setting in United Kingdom (UK) with children diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Autism Spectrum Disorders and Learning Disabilities (LD) in both 1:1 and group settings.  She has experience administering formal (e.g., CELF and RAPT) and informal assessment of language and social skills.

Jesjiven has used many Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to support children’s communication including whiteboards, objects, symbols, and basic Makaton. I created resources using Board maker. She has worked collaboratively with families and other staff to assess children, create goals, and set care plans for the therapy assistants (Tas) and parents to implement, including communication partner training.

She believes in using a holistic approach and working with families as the key to achieving the best outcomes with children. Her goal is to facilitate change whilst maintaining a fun and engaging environment.
