THERAPY ASSISTANT/BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONIST
Mikaela graduated from a combined Biology & Psychology Honours program from the University of Victoria with a minor in statistics. Prior to Joining Symbiosis, She had the opportunity to work as a childcare worker in various behavioral support roles, liaising with families and leaders to create behavioral plans, which effectively meet each child where they are. Additionally, Mikaela has worked as a pre-school program intern, working on curriculum development, and teaching roles in both small and individual learning settings to best accommodate the learning styles of each and every growing learner.
Mikaela had also worked with the Centre of Autism Research, Technology and Education outreach team, as the Education Chair for UVic’s Global Medical Brigades Chapter; as a researcher in maternal health with the Society of Participatory Research in Asia (based in Rajasthan, India); and also as volunteer activities assistant with Island Health.
