SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT
Shanta completed her Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Program from Grant MacEwan University, Edmonton, Alberta after completing her Community Support Worker (CWS) program in Education Assistant (EA) from the University of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, BC in April 2016.
Shanta provides support in individual and group sessions under the supervision of Speech Pathologists at Symbiosis-Chilliwack. She also assists in the implementation of recommendations of the SLP treatment plan and carry out treatment sessions based on the specific therapy goals established by the supervising SLP. She has experience working primarily with school aged children but also has worked with pre-school children during the early intervention program targeting speech sounds, motor speech goals, early language strategies, and using themes to teach higher-level concepts.
